The Croisette beach in Cannes, pale sand and palm trees facing the bay

The legendary seafront

The Croisette starts five minutes from the shop

The Croisette was made for cycling: three flat kilometres between beaches and grand hotels, from the Palais des Festivals to Pointe Croisette, with the bay of Cannes as a permanent horizon. Renting from Mistral Location, at 4 rue Georges Clemenceau, spares you the hunt for parking and puts you in the saddle at the Old Port, where the promenade is at its finest. Our city bikes and hybrids, serviced every morning, suit the whole family.

In the morning the light skims the beaches and the Croisette still belongs to runners and cyclists; at the end of the day you savour it at walking pace, one eye on the Lérins islands. Push on to Port Canto and the rose garden, ride out to Palm Beach, or come back to wander the stalls of the Forville market. We offer lower rates over several days and free route tips before you leave.

To rent a bike on the Croisette without a second thought, leave the car at the Laubeuf or Pantiero car park by the Old Port, or arrive by train — Cannes station is a ten-minute walk away. Set off early, before the promenade fills up: the light is soft and the cycle lanes clear all the way to Pointe Croisette, where Sainte-Marguerite island floats offshore. Book online or call +33 4 93 39 33 60, and your bike will be ready to roll.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I actually cycle on the Croisette itself?

Yes, with a little common sense. The Croisette promenade gets very busy, especially in the afternoon and in high season: a cycle lane runs along the boulevard and lets you move more freely. At peak times the nicest option is to ride gently, or even to walk beside your bike along the beaches.

Where can I lock my bike near the Croisette and the beaches?

You will find bike racks all along the boulevard de la Croisette and near the beach entrances, from the Allées to the Palais des Festivals. Always lock the frame and a wheel to a fixed point with the lock we provide. For a long lunch by the sea, pick a busy, well-lit spot.

How far are you from the Croisette and how do I get there?

Our shop at 4 rue Georges Clemenceau is a five-minute ride from the Croisette. Once your saddle is set, off you go: skirt the Old Port, round the Palais des Festivals, and the promenade opens onto the bay. We show you the exact route on a map before you set off.

Do you have bikes for children and families?

Our city bikes suit riders from the age of eight: soft saddle, basket and an upright position, ideal for riding the Croisette together. We adjust every saddle height on the spot and provide a helmet for each rider. Tell us the children’s ages and heights when you book, and we will have the right bikes ready for your family outing.

How long should I allow for the ride from the Palais des Festivals to Palm Beach?

Allow about 45 minutes there and back at an easy pace — nearly seven flat kilometres along the beaches to Pointe Croisette and its casino. With photo stops, an ice cream at Port Canto and a loop through the rose garden, set aside an hour and a half to make the most of it.
