Mistral Location opens a stone’s throw from the Old Port of Cannes.
Our story
Three quarters of a century in the same spot. Founded in 1951, Mistral Location is the oldest two-wheeler rental shop in Cannes — and it still stands 50 metres from the Old Port, at the foot of Le Suquet, right where it all began.

2026
75 years: same address, same trade, a new generation of machines.
Since 1951
In 1951, Cannes was only just emerging from the dark years. The Festival, born in 1946, had a handful of editions to its name; the Croisette was finding its lights again, the Old Port its wooden pointus and fishing nets, and the Riviera its taste for the season. That was the year Mistral Location opened its doors a stone’s throw from the quays, on a simple idea: to give visitors something to ride. Scooters were arriving across Europe, the bicycle still ruled the old lanes, and a generation was rediscovering the pleasure of gliding along the water. Three quarters of a century on, we have never left this corner of town.
Since 1951
The craft itself has not moved. Every morning begins the same way: setting a saddle to the right height, checking a brake, pumping up a tyre, unfolding a map to suggest the route that suits this rider, on this day. What has changed is everything around it. The purely mechanical bicycle has given ground to electric assistance; motors are more reliable, cleaner and quieter; and booking, once a matter of the counter and the telephone, now takes a few minutes online. The tools move on, the attention stays the same: the right machine, properly prepared, for the right ride.
Since 1951
Today Mistral Location is a human-scale business, run by Maxime Cerdan. The fleet covers every use: city bikes and hybrids for cruising, carbon road bikes for the hinterland climbs, long-range e-bikes to flatten the hills, Honda scooters from 50cc to the 750 maxi-scooter, and Honda and BMW motorcycles up to the R 1300 GS. Everything goes through the workshop: each machine is serviced and checked before it leaves. We welcome guests in French and English alike, with online booking to back it up. The 4.8 out of 5 our customers leave on Google says the rest better than we could.
Since 1951
Seventy-five years of seasons don’t show on a shopfront, but you feel them across the counter. We know which route still holds up on a windy mistral day, which to avoid when the Croisette is closed for a shoot, where to find shade in August and quiet during the congress weeks. We know the rhythm of the Festival, of MIPIM, of the Régates, and the windows when the town rides best. We don’t crown ourselves the best bike rental in Cannes: we are simply the oldest, and it is that accumulated time we put, every morning, at the service of your ride.
